From a cheeky umbrella to our favorite rain boots.
We rounded up some products that’ll be your best friend for the wettest of rainy days— whether you’re splashing around in a park, going for a run, or taking a quick walk to the grocery store, these rain repellent products will keep you dry from point A to point B. Don’t take a rain check on these items!
#1 Rain Parka
It should go without saying but investing in a rain parka that has many months of functionality is the key to keeping yourself dry. We love this one from Everlane that has four neutrals that easily trek across spring, summer, winter, and fall. KCM Clare’s favorite is Seaglass pictured above.
#2 Rain Jacket
Sometimes one raincoat isn’t enough — especially depending on what type of weather we’re dealing with. This affordable Levi’s colorblock rain rubberized jacket is a perfect match for all types of weather, it might even pass the waterproof test for Londoners. Pick the navy/wine for a more classic look or the thistle/tempest for a pop of pastel. We’re also eyeing this cheery mico breathable hooded rain jacket from Bernardo that comes in two bright spring colors. There are so many options we can’t choose!
#3 Water Repellent Running Jacket
If you’re an all-year runner and don’t skip your workout for any type of weather mishap, we recommend grabbing a breathable and water repellent packable rain jacket. This one from Under Armor has reflective details and packs into the pocket to become a tote bag for easy carry!
#4 Rain Boots
Is it possible to have a crush on a shoe? Because this boot is on our lust list. Begone the Bean Boot and hello to the Wellie Chelsea Boot! These boots from none other than L.L.Bean come in three classic colors it’s hard to choose which one to fit our wardrobe.
Obviously investing in a timeless umbrella is necessary, but you can also have a little fun with your rain gear. We love this creative Sky Umbrella from MoMA Design Store by Tibor Kalman and Emanuela Frattini Magnusson. It’s made of sturdy nylon covering the photo-process-printed sky on polyester with a durable wooden shaft and has a handle with a manual open/close mechanism. If you want a more affordable option, we also recommend this Repel travel sky umbrella dupe, which comes in 11 styles, and has some of the best quality reviews on Amazon.
#6 Rain Hat / Bucket Hat
You thought we’d leave a good rain hat from the list? Think again! KCMers love a bucket hat and especially a water-resistant one from lululemon. Pick the terracotta or silver drop and you’ll immediately upgrade your look.
#7 Waterproof Dry Bag
A dry bag is essential for so many reasons: Whether you’re trekking around in a rainy place, going swimming, kayaking, or skiing, a dry bag can keep your phone, wallet, and money from getting wet. It’s a no-brainer.
