Check Out the Complete List of 2023 Oscar Nominees

Did you see the hit film that leads with 11 nominations?

In the world of award season, there’s no denying that the Academy Awards are the show business equivalent of the Super Bowl. It’s guaranteed we’ll see magnificent red carpet looks (and likely a few misfires), tear-jerking speeches, and other forms of unmitigated Hollywood glamor. Oh, and there’s always a decent chance we’ll witness some history-making celebrity drama.

This year, the festivities are bound to be entertaining considering this diverse list of nominees. Daniel Kwan with Daniel Scheinert’s mind-bending sci-fi flick Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the pack with 11 nominations ranging from best picture to best original score. The World War I drama, All Quiet on the Western Front, received nine nominations while the Irish tragicomedy, The Banshees of Inisherin, earned nine nods, too.

It’s also interesting to note that the best picture nominees include blockbuster films like Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water. The hit summer biopic, Elvis, made the list as well.

If you’re critical of the Academy Awards’ notoriously hesitant embrace of diversity, this year brings good news and bad news. Of the 10 lead and supporting actress nominees, half are women of color — including long-standing icons like Angela Bassett and Michelle Yeoh. On the other hand, 2023’s lead and supporting actors include just two performers of color and the best director category only includes men. Improvements have happened, but representation at the Academy Awards is as complicated as ever.

When are the 2023 Oscars and how can you watch them?

The 95th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, March 12, 2023, live on ABC and abc.com, though subscribers can also watch using the ABC app. Oh, and if you’re throwing or attending an Oscars party, we’ve got some tips for all your celebratory must-haves.

You can live stream the Oscars using services like Sling TV, Hulu, Fubo TV, and YouTube TV. Non-subscribers will need to purchase a streaming subscription, but don’t worry, many of these streamers offer free trials.
