I’m no stranger to working out, but getting myself to the gym still requires drive, time, and sometimes a trainer to hold me accountable (lol). They say you should dress for the job you want, so why not dress for the athlete you want to be? A great workout outfit might be just the nudge you need to get moving.
As the weather cools down, you might feel more like curling up on the couch than sweating it out. But this is the perfect time to stock up on gear from some of my favorite brands — especially since Athleta's Friends & Family sale, with 30% off sitewide, starts today. Want a peek at what I wear for weight training, pickleball, and more? Here are a few of my recent favorites:
Athleta makes, without a doubt, my favorite sports bras. I own them in multiple styles, because they’re no-fuss, supportive, and don’t restrict my range of motion. I tend to gravitate toward black workout clothes, but I’m thinking of trying this subtle dark floral print on days I want to branch out.
My favorite Alo flared leggings are out of stock, but these are the perfect alternative. They come in a petite length, too, so anyone on the shorter side (like me) won’t have to worry about the hems dragging on the ground.
For pickleball and golf, I love a good athletic skort. Too many styles venture into micro-mini territory, so I’m currently eyeing this longer option, which offers more coverage — and helps prevent any accidental moonings. Plus, it’s on sale! For weight training, I specifically wear these Nikes. Their firmer soles provide extra stability while I'm lifting.
These New Balance sneakers aren’t technically for working out, but I’ve definitely worn them in the gym. Thankfully, they look just as good while running errands afterward, too.
