Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York City, was one of the first people in the United States to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Katie Couric spoke to Sandra about how she feels a day after being vaccinated. “No side effects,” she said. “Just mild soreness at the injection site, just like I get when I get the annual influenza vaccine. On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the worst pain, this is a one. No fevers, no weakness, or aches. I feel great. As a matter of fact, when I go home today I’m going for a run.”
