Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 2,800 anti-Asian hate crimes in the United States. Civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen created a viral video last week, calling on the media to shed light on these assaults.

Stories of hate have continued to surface — this week a video of an Asian-American woman being thrown to the ground in New York City was widely shared, earlier in the week another Asian woman was punched in the face on the subway.
