The First Person In New York To Receive the COVID Vaccine Says She’s Feeling Great

Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York City, was one of the first people in the United States to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Katie Couric spoke to Sandra about how she feels a day after being vaccinated. “No side effects,” she said. “Just mild soreness at the injection site, just like I get when I get the annual influenza vaccine. On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the worst pain, this is a one. No fevers, no weakness, or aches. I feel great. As a matter of fact, when I go home today I’m going for a run.”
