Stacey Abrams shares her suggestions for what to read, cook and more this weekend
Stacey Abrams has had an incredibly busy year, so we are baffled by how she found the time to write her captivating new new political thriller While Justice Sleeps. She spoke with Katie about the new book, as well as her thoughts on a new bill restricting voting rights on this week’s episode of Next Question… and she also took the time to give us some awesome recommendations for the weekend! Read on to see some of Stacey’s suggestions.
What to Cook
Stacey’s got a whole meal planned out for us! This weekend, she suggests making romano crusted chicken with three pepper risotto and asparagus spears.
What to Listen To
When it comes to music, Stacey keeps it classic and beautiful, suggesting we listen to jazz pianist Hazel Scott.
What to Watch
We love that Stacey suggested two polar opposite TV shows to check out: the French mystery/ thriller series Lupin on Netflix, and Guy Fieri’s Food Network gameshow Guy’s Grocery Games!
What to Read
For history buffs, she recommends The Coldest Winter by David Halberstam. Interested in dark fantasy? She says to try Ring Shout, by P. Djèlí Clark. And if you really want to mix things up with genres, Stacey suggests Tales of Japan: Traditional Stories of Monsters and Magic, a collection of 15 traditional Japanese folktales.
Who to follow
Stacey says, “follow my organizations on Twitter: Fair Fight (@FairFightAction), Fair Count (@FairCount) and the Southern Economic Advancement Project (@The_SEAP).” We certainly will!
