Flu season is here, and while you can’t always be there to support a sick loved one, you can still provide a heartfelt, home-cooked meal — even if you’re miles apart.
When Marti Wymer's mother was battling cancer in Canada, she found it difficult to care for her from where she lived in Florida. She fondly remembered her mom’s chicken soup as a childhood comfort when she was sick, but struggled to find a way to send her mother the same kind of support. That's why she founded Spoonful of Comfort, a company that delivers homemade meals and thoughtful care packages.
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Spoonful of Comfort partnered with the Vera Bradley Foundation, which has a longstanding commitment to funding breast cancer research, to create a special-edition gift set, The Comfort Collab. As Stephanie Scheele, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation, put it: “Some partnerships simply feel meant to be.”
The Comfort Collab is thoughtfully curated with your choice of soup, delicious sides and cookies, plus a cozy blanket and toiletry case in a signature Vera Bradley print. You can also customize the care package with fluffy socks, candles, and other extras, making it easy to personalize the gift for someone special. A portion of the proceeds supports the Vera Bradley Foundation and breast cancer research.
It was designed with someone undergoing cancer treatment or recovery in mind, but you can also send it to someone with a cold or anyone who could use a little extra love. Think of it as a get-well-soon card, but so much better.
