No matter where I scroll, I can’t seem to escape ads for Lola Blankets. The faux fur throws have inundated my Instagram feed. If I browse for a few minutes without seeing a deliberate ad, the trendy covers will pop up in a story from some mom influencer I follow who happens to be a partner of theirs. What makes Lola Blankets special?
What struck me most was the texture. It's ruched, so instead of lying flat like a typical fleece, it has a wavy, almost animated quality — you can see and feel the movement across the surface. It's double-sided, too, which sounds like a minor detail until you've lived with blankets where one side is plush, and the other is some scratchy, forgotten afterthought. Every inch of this one is the same soft, weighted, buttery texture, front and back. This extends the material's functionality and lifespan.
My personal Lola Blankets review
When our Lola Blankets arrived the day before a nearly five-hour road trip to Boston to pick up my son from sleepaway camp, my daughter insisted on bringing it along for the ride despite the July heat, and by the time we got to our hotel, she was obsessed. Are Lola Blankets good for people who are sensory-sensitive?
We're a family full of sensory seekers, meaning we underreact to sensory input and need more of it to function. But not all textiles are pleasant to the touch. This blanket unexpectedly checked every box. It's weighted without being stifling, but it doesn't trap heat in the way I assumed something this dense would. My kids, who are both particular about textures, took to Lola blankets immediately and without complaint, which in my house is its own kind of five-star review.
Is the Lola Blanket worth buying?
We're still in the honeymoon phase, so we can’t say how well it’ll hold up to years of use and washing. Based on our experience so far, I understand why the brand has a massive following.
