About W&P
Josh Williams and Eric Prum got their first taste of entrepreneurship as undergrads, roommates, and best friends at the University of Virginia, where they started a catering business. A few years after graduation, they teamed up again to launch W&P, a company that taps into their mutual love of food, design, and entertaining. The innovative, quirky products don’t fit into any one category: There are books of food and drink recipes, stylish containers perfect for meals on the go, clever ice trays that won’t spill or crack, and travel-ready cocktail kits, to name a few. The common thread is W&P’s commitment to solving everyday inconveniences, reducing dependence on single-use plastics, and making the ordinary more enjoyable.
Why we love them
W&P fits into our favorite genre: Unexpected finds you end up using every day. KCM’s Ciara says her Porter Seal Tight Bowl is the perfect way to bring lunch to work. It’s large enough to fit salads, and can go straight from the fridge to the microwave to heat up soup or leftovers. (She loves that she can toss it into her bag without worrying about anything leaking on her commute.) W&P’s philosophy is that infusing glamour into daily tasks makes the experience of food and drink more special, fun, and satisfying. The Bartender’s Knife, for instance, looks beautiful and allows you to peel and slice ingredients without dirtying every knife in your block. Likewise, the Cheese Knife has a finely sharpened edge for firm cheese, a pointed tip for hard aged cheese, and a flat side for easy spreading.
