Dreamed up by three Vancouverians who were sick of rainy weather, Vessi sneakers are rain-proof, snow-proof, slush-proof, spilled-drink-proof,  you name it. They’re made out of Dyma-Tex, a patented knit material with waterproof technology built right in, rather than coated on top. The fabric has tiny holes that allow heat and sweat to escape, but blocks out larger water molecules. Price point and weatherproof perks aside, Vessis’ sustainability is a selling point in and of itself: The sneakers are produced with 600% less energy and 97% less material waste than conventional standards. With options for women, men, and kids, the whole family can hang up the rain boots for something just as waterproof, but much more wearable.
