About TKEES
TKEES began with a simple conundrum: Co-founder Carly Burnett needed flip flops. More specifically, she needed the right flip-flops — ones that weren’t flashy, wouldn’t fall apart in two days, and ideally were responsibly made. Unable to find the perfect pair, she teamed up with her husband Jesse to fill one particular void: sleek, trend-resistant casual wear constructed as well as investment pieces. TKEES has since expanded its flip-flop options from five shades of nude to 15 — plus vibrant colors and patterns in new styles — and launched gender-neutral basics in a range of silhouettes to match your preferred style. Go on and outfit-repeat to your heart’s content.
Why we love them
TKEES is your answer to “I just want a basic [blank].” Its unfussy offerings include the sandals you keep by the door, the sweatshirt you wear for a full 36 hours when you can’t get your house to heat up, and the T-shirt that seems to live permanently on your “clean enough that I’ll wear it again” clothes chair (don’t pretend you don’t have one). We adore the Nudes flip-flop for its effortless versatility, but we also love the slightly more detailed Betty sandal and the strappy Gemma. On the apparel side, we like that TKEES abides by a “variations on a theme” philosophy: There’s the Classic Crew or the Boxy Crew for a slightly more cropped, relaxed silhouette, and just enough versions of the jogger to ensure you get what’s right for you without feeling overwhelmed by choices.
