About Thistle Farms
When Becca Stevens opened a sanctuary house for five women in 1997, her vision was to create a space where survivors of abuse, addiction, incarceration, and trafficking could heal. The vision expanded in 2001, when Stevens launched the business side of Thistle Farms to help residents gain economic independence. Two decades later, Thistle Farms now houses 26 women at a time in a two-year residential program, during which they receive healthcare, job training, therapy, legal help, and more, all while working in the Thistle Farms cafe and shop, or making home and body products. With 75 percent of program graduates now healthy and independent — and a growing network of sister organizations across the country and beyond — Thistle Farms is proving that compassion truly heals.

Why we love them
There are a multitude of reasons why we can’t get enough of Thistle Farms’ handmade home and body products, but we’ll just name a few: They smell amazing, they’re made with pure essential oils and natural ingredients, and they support a truly incredible cause. KCM’s Ciara loves her Calm candle, which makes her apartment smell cozy, fresh, and woodsy all at once. Plus, the 14-ounce size means she can burn it for hours. Katie herself is a fan of the Lavender Linen Spray to give her bedding a fresh and relaxing scent, and we’re also obsessed with the Body Butter for a super-hydrating but still lightweight moisturizer. And if you can’t decide which product to try, go for one of Thistle Farms’ gift sets to sample a bit of everything.
