About Sunski
For Michael Charley and Tom Stewart, the road to founding Sunski was pretty winding. After a few years of struggling in the Great Recession job market they’d graduated into, the college buddies launched a Kickstarter campaign to recreate some cool vintage sunglasses Charley had come across on a surfing trip in Australia. To their surprise, the campaign took off and raised more than $150,000 in less than a month, and the friends got to work building the brand they suddenly owned. Over a decade later, Sunski has grown to offer more than 20 unique, unisex sunglasses styles — all of them affordable and sustainable — suited to every outdoor activity, from lounging on the beach to hitting the slopes.

Why we love them
When it comes to sunglasses, you’re often paying more for a label than you are for quality. But Sunski crafts all its products entirely in-house, from design through to production, creating every frame in their lineup with its proprietary SuperLight recycled polymer blend. It transforms scrap plastic into lightweight, comfortable frames you can wear all day, and each pair has polarized lenses that improve visibility. If you like a round frame, we recommend the Dipsea, while the timeless Ventanas are great for a squared-off style. The Yuba falls between those two, for a perfectly unisex look — and for a more rugged pair that will block out glare on the mountain, check out Sunski’s Alpine line.
