About Oars + Alps
When Mia Duchnowski and Laura Cox’s husbands got serious about their skincare, they turned to the only place where they could confidently find clean and effective products: Their wives’ cabinets. Recognizing a gap in the market — as well as the influence women have on the products men use — Duchnowski and Cox quit their jobs and plunged into research. They found that men cared about the products and ingredients they used, but had fewer options than women when it came to clean skincare and brands that catered to all their needs. Duchnowski and Cox founded Oars + Alps to be the full-service skin- and bodycare line men were looking for, with everything from moisturizing sunscreen to aluminum-free deodorant at reasonable prices.
Why we love them
One of our favorite things about Oars + Alps is that it makes skincare easy to understand. Each product on the site has a “How to Use” section explaining how to combine products for a simple and effective routine. KCM’s Ryan says the Everyday Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer with SPF 37 spreads easily without feeling greasy or irritating his sensitive skin, and even a small amount leaves his skin feeling hydrated.
