Have you ever decided you’d prefer getting 30 mosquito bites over having to apply greasy, headache-inducing bug spray again? We’ve been there, too. When Nichole Powell couldn’t find an effective alternative to the DEET-heavy stuff she’d used as a kid, she set out to create her own bug repellent that relied on natural ingredients rather than potentially harmful chemicals. Working with a team of chemists and researchers, Powell developed the formula for Kinfield’s signature Golden Hour: Hyper-effective Indonesian citronella, lemongrass, clove, and vanilla. Kinfield has since expanded its lineup to include mineral sunscreens for face and body, anti-itch balm, and more, all made with ingredients that won’t harm you or the planet. Your summer just got a whole lot better.
Why we love them
There are plenty of circumstances when compromise is necessary, but Kinfield helps you have the best of both worlds. Its safe, natural ingredients feel and smell good while working just as well as the old-school chemical stuff. KCM’s Lisa was impressed by the light scent and feel of Golden Hour, while our colleague Ciara was equally impressed with its mosquito-repelling power in the post-rain Michigan woods.
