About Eucalypso
Eucalypso founder Elle Liu knows firsthand that sleeping in the wrong sheets can be seriously disruptive. After having her sleep ruined by night sweats and waking up with breakouts, Liu dove into researching all things sheets and discovered some issues: Many cotton sheets are woven in a way that traps bacteria and sweat, and much of the cotton we use is grown and harvested unsustainably. In searching for an alternative, Liu came across Tencel — a silky, temperature-regulating fabric made of sustainably harvested and processed wood pulp — and knew she’d found her solution. She founded Eucalypso, which upends the traditional bedding-industry practices, from creating less-wasteful fabrics and fair labor practices to encouraging conscious purchasing by consumers. The result is a product you’ll love and use for years.

Why we love them
Eucalypso makes refreshing your bedding feel good in more ways than one. First off, the products themselves are amazing: Tencel has a cool sateen finish and is moisture-wicking, antimicrobial, and gentle on sensitive or acne-prone skin. And the brand makes sure you feel good about your purchases, too. Beyond the environmental sustainability of Tencel, Eucalypso’s sheets are finished in factories that empower women, educate their workers, and provide subsidized housing and food for employees. KCM’s Alissa says her Pampering Sleep Mask isn’t too tight around her head and is so soft and lightweight that it’s hardly detectable. And our colleague Ciara’s Classic Sheet Set has kept her cool in a non-AC’d bedroom for an entire NYC summer. Now that’s impressive.
