About Apotheke
When Chrissy Fichtl started making soap in her New York City kitchen, the hobby was just a way to de-stress from her high-pressure job as a personal assistant. But as she experimented with blending fragrances and then dipped a proverbial toe into candle-making, Fichtl started selling what she and her husband couldn’t use at farmers’ markets around the city. Soon, her brand Apotheke took off: Fichtl scored a wholesale deal, opened her factory in Brooklyn in 2012, and has since expanded into major retail spaces nationwide. Despite Apotheke’s growth, Fichtl and her team have maintained the same standards of quality and care by carefully sourcing top-notch ingredients, mixing everything in small batches, and hand-making each candle. It’s craftsmanship you can smell from the moment you open the box.
