When you open Instagram, do you find yourself scrolling through cooking videos in hopes of gaining inspiration and some fun new faves? You’re not alone — Katie loves looking at viral recipes that she hopes to make. In an effort to actually get cooking, she and her friend Kelly Rizzo have started a new video series called Is It As Good As It Looks?

In these witty and ultra-watchable tutorials, Katie and Rizzo will try their hand at the recipes currently dominating social media. On the menu this week? A delicious dupe for that Reese’s cup you keep tucked into your office drawer. No hate to the classic candy, but if you want to fill up on protein-rich peanut butter powder while also satisfying your sweet tooth, this is the recipe for you.

To make the snack, you’ll need that peanut butter powder, almond butter, coconut oil, and some chocolate chips. But you’ll also need apple sauce, which will hydrate the powder and provide a subtle boost of sweetness.

The peanut butter balls will come together quickly — the entire process takes just three steps. The hardest part, by far, is waiting for the dessert to chill in the freezer for an hour. But once you’re in the clear to eat, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without this simple snack.

So, what did Katie and Kelly think of the final product? Find out in the video below — then read on for how to make these bad boys for yourself!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

  • 1 ¼ cup peanut butter powder
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce

  • ⅔ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • Flakey sea salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the peanut butter powder, apple sauce, and almond flour.
  2. Add the coconut oil to the chocolate chips; microwave in 15-second increments until melted.
  3. Make 1-tablespoon-sized balls out of the peanut butter mixture and dip it in the chocolate. Place it on a lined cookie sheet and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Pop it in the freezer for at least one hour and enjoy!
