There’s almost nothing more summery to me than a big bowl of guacamole (besides pool parties and a garden full of tomatoes, that is). But you can enjoy my fantastic guac recipe any time of year, whether you’re having company over or just enjoying a night in front of the TV. Try this with tortilla chips (of course), or get creative and dollop it on top of eggs or spread it onto a sandwich. It’s so simple, and so, so satisfying.
Ingredients
- 8 avocados
- 1 finely chopped jalapeno pepper
- 1 medium red onion, chopped
- The juice of 2 limes
- 1 large tomato, seeded and chopped fine
- A fistful of cilantro, finely chopped (save a sprig for the garnish!)
- Tabasco sauce to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- It couldn’t be easier: Just mash up the avocados (I use a potato masher to keep my guac a little chunky, the way I prefer it). Then add the rest of the ingredients, and enjoy!
