Weekend Whats: Arianna Huffington

The Thrive Global CEO shares her favorite recs

After a stressful week, founder and CEO of Thrive Global Arianna Huffington offers some suggestions for unwinding this weekend…

What to Do: Hiking is my way of outdoor, socially distanced socializing. So this weekend I’ll be wearing my Prabal Gurung mask, shown here ⬆️ while hiking. I love it — it’s stylish, soft, and I can still breathe through it if the hike gets strenuous. Hiking clears my mind, and after this week, there’s a lot to clear!

What to Cook: Unlike many, I haven’t taken up Covid-cooking, but my new snack in heavy rotation is ground-up cauliflower and purple cabbage, with oil, vinegar and coriander. Proof that healthy can also be delicious!

What To Watch: I have an addictive personality, but to use that to build healthy addictions, I decided to only watch TV shows I love while on the treadmill. So I have been walking to The Queen’s Gambit, a beautiful period show set in the ‘50s and ‘60s about a young woman chess prodigy.

Who to Read: I just finished Michael Sandel’s The Tyranny of Merit and David Goodhart’s Head, Hand, Heart. Both show how costly it is to have a definition of success that only values money and power, instead of qualities of the heart.

What to Listen to: I’ve been loving this Diddy sleep meditation. It’s a great way to wind down.
