The holiday season is in full swing, and some cities are going all out. In the spirit of the season, lawn care company LawnStarter just released its list of the most festive cities across the U.S. — and they might as well be straight out of a Hallmark holiday movie.

The company based its findings on each community’s commitment to holiday cheer. We’re talking the kind of big festivals and European-style Christmas markets that make you feel like this is truly the most wonderful time of the year. But lights and great shopping are only part of the equation — LawnStarter also factored in average snowfall to ensure that these cities have Instagram-worthy backgrounds, as well.

Could your city be one of them? Read on to find out.

What were the highlights?

Last year, we looked at data that said New York City had the most cheer. It’s common knowledge that the Big Apple is all about elaborate holiday festivities, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that NYC won the top spot again. And while LawnStarter takes care to evaluate annual snowfall, some of the most festive cities are in warmer climates — so those of you who hate cold weather but love winter celebrations can find a perfect balance in Las Vegas or San Diego.

In addition to ranking the most cheerful communities, LawnStarter also takes the time to rank the least cheerful and festive places in the U.S. Topping the list this year is Port St. Lucie, Florida. But that’s not the only Florida city that’s not too into holiday cheer: Three communities from the Sunshine State appear on this list. California and Texas also appear on the “least festive” list multiple times.

We’ve compiled the ten most festive cities here alongside the ten least festive. But if you don’t see your city here, don’t worry — LawnStarter ranked 200 U.S. communities, so take a look at their complete list.
