After production setbacks, multiple industry-wide strikes — oh yeah, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes drama — Yellowstone is finally returning for its last six episodes in just a few weeks. If you can’t wait to see what’s in store for this explosive season (or, more accurately, half a season — this is technically part 2 of season 5), you’re in luck: Paramount released the first official trailer. Strap in, because it’s going to get your heart pumping.
Yellowstone season 5 part 2 trailer
If the Yellowstone trailer is any indication, these last episodes will have some shifting alliances, betrayals, and quite a few attempted murders. Yikes! And one other big surprise? Kevin Costner is featured heavily in the trailer. That’s a shock because, if you’ve been following any of the Yellowstone gossip, you’ll know that Costner’s return was a huge sticking point in filming these final few episodes. And in fact, after a lot of will-he-or-won’t-he back-and-forth, in June, Costner confirmed that he would not be back to film John Dutton’s exit.
So what does his character’s appearances in the trailer mean? Is this old footage? Did Costner change his mind after all? We’ll have to wait and see exactly how this all plays out on Nov. 10 — but for now, join us in obsessively examining the trailer:
When does the new season of Yellowstone premiere?
As we mentioned before, fans of the Western drama don’t have to wait too much longer to get their fix because you’ll be able to watch the Dutton family saga barrel towards its conclusion beginning Sunday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. on Paramount. And good thing, because it’s been quite the wait! Part one of season 5 aired in January 2022, if you can believe it. For now, fill up on some Yellowstone backstory, including whether it’s based on a true story and if the Dutton ranch really exists.
