Another year, another crop of top-notch television luminaries angling for gold at the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Nominations for the 2026 installment of the prestigious ceremony were announced Wednesday, and they're filled with beloved series. Leading the pack is The Pitt, which racked up 25 nominations — not exactly a surprise, given the show's critical acclaim and widespread fandom. Just behind in the nominations tally is Hacks; its final season garnered 24 nods. (Katie's also interviewed Jean Smart, the star of that show.) Then there's Widow's Bay with 19 nominations, followed by Pluribus with 18.
Other notable tidbits include The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's nine nominations — the most the show has ever received in a single year, and they come on the heels of the series finale that aired in May, after the show was controversially canceled. The late Rob Reiner, who died tragically in December of last year, also earned a posthumous nomination for his work on The Bear. And Lisa Kudrow pulled off a unique feat: She got her third nomination for lead actress in a comedy for The Comeback — and although she's been nominated for every season of the show, those nods came years apart (in 2006, 2015, and now 2026) due to the extremely long breaks between the seasons airing.
