If you’re keeping up with Bachelor in Paradise, this week the Goldens finally arrived on the beach, ready to stir things up. If the “youngs,” as they’ve been lovingly dubbed, thought their older counterparts were going to be a snooze, they were in for a rude awakening this week when the whole cast was tasked with playing a game for the chance to win a date in the coveted VIP suite. All they had to do was reveal a secret, and whoever ‘fessed up to the juiciest admission won the prize.
Each player wrote their confession anonymously, and it was shown to the group to determine who made the most explosive revelation. One contestant (who was later revealed to be Keith) admitted he’d cheated on a college final, and RJ shared a NSFW confession from his past involving a spicy non-monogamous arrangement. But it was Golden Bachelor alum Kathy’s claim that she once slept with someone else while her partner was in the next room that impressed (and maybe even scandalized) the group, landing her the opportunity to invite the man of her choosing back to the VIP suite for some one-on-one time.

Many viewers had questions about Kathy’s shocking confession, and the Bachelor in Paradise star gave Katie Couric Media the tea.
“When Jesse said that whoever had the best secret would win a big surprise, I decided I was going to win it,” Kathy, 72, tells us. “I knew that if you’re dealing with youngins, somehow it’s got to allude to sex.” She further explains, “I’m a wordsmith, so I decided to write something that would grab their attention.”
But the “secret” was not what it seemed — to her fellow castmates or to viewers. “The truth is, when I said I slept with someone else while my partner slept in the other room, I did. I slept with my 2-year-old son while he was projectile vomiting across the room and my husband was asleep in the next room because he had to get up for work the next day, so I took sick duty.”
The Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour host confirms, “It was not sex with another man, but you could tell by their faces last night they thought it was.”
As for whether she feels any remorse for her word trickery? “I didn’t lie,” she says. “I said I slept with someone else while my partner slept in another room, and I [technically] did. I won, and I had a great time with Keith in the VIP suite. It was a win for me.”
There was another juicy moment from the recent episode Swarts dished on. Toward the end of the episode, as the gang gets ready to head to bed for the night, Golden Bachelor alum April Kirkwood walks past 28-year-old Jonathan Johnson and tells him where he can find her room. The implication is that Jonathan may want to come to April’s door for a nightcap — or some other activities.
When asked what Swarts made of the comment, she said, “April is a beautiful, spunky, energetic woman who doesn’t really consider age; she looks at experience. I think she came just like the rest of us: to meet people and have a good time. That’s all it meant — just April, having a good time.”
As for whether the 67-year-old will pursue a relationship with her much-younger castmate? We’ll just have to tune in next time on Bachelor in Paradise, airing Mondays at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
