Oceanographer Sylvia A. Earle has become a hero of mine. She was the first woman to walk the ocean floor and broke barriers in 1970 when she led the first all-female underwater research team to study ocean life off the coast of St. John. She also holds the record for the deepest dive (1,250 feet) without a tether! Sylvia has gone on to found Mission Blue, an organization that aims to explore and protect the ocean as well as raise awareness about marine life. She is unbelievable and I hope you enjoy learning about her story as much as I did! #seeherstory #seeher #wcw #badass
