About City Bonfires
Like so many people around the world, Chris McCasland and Michael Opalski’s careers were flipped upside down by COVID-19. Working in the sports and concert industry and as a restaurant-business salesman, respectively, McCasland and Opalski were suddenly stuck at home with no income and no end in sight. They joined forces to create City Bonfires, a small, portable fire pit that brings all the joy of an open-air bonfire to a 4-by-2-inch compact design. Handmade in Maryland, the reusable mini bonfire uses nontoxic soy wax, 100% recyclable steel tins, and 100% biodegradable and compostable plant-based materials. Small enough to bring on a backpacking trip or to your neighbor’s porch, City Bonfires feel like a real fire, wherever and whenever you want one.
