Weekend Whats: How To Celebrate Galentine’s Day!

Young Woman Having A Virtual Birthday Party On Video Call With Friends Using Smart Phone

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which means it’s also Galentine’s Day, a day to celebrate the love you have for your best gal pals. This week, we’re offering some recommendations for women everywhere to enjoy with their besties, no matter how far away they might be.

What to Watch: Is there anything better on Valentine’s Day than a good old fashioned high school romance story? Well if Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky stole your heart in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, then we’ve got some great news for you: Netflix is dropping the third and final installment of the film series just in time for Valentines Day. Trust us— your Galentines will go gaga for it!

What to Listen To: Valentines Day can sometimes evoke mixed emotions, so who better than Brené Brown to remind you and your BFFs how amazing you are?! All episodes of her podcast Unlocking Us with Brené Brown are fantastic, but if you really want to find your inner feminist, we recommend her episode with Glennon Doyle

What to Wear: Nothing says Galentine’s Day like adorable matching pajamas. We love this pink polka dot pair from Anthropologie. Pair them with the coziest slippers ever from L.L. Bean and you’re set for the weekend!

What to Cook: It’s chilly out (for most of us!), so there’s nothing more comforting than a warm, yummy pasta for a snuggly night in with friends. Ina Garten’s Capellini with Tomatoes and Basil is easy to make and mouth wateringly delicious — plus, it’s vegetarian and can be made with gluten-free pasta, so can accommodate any of your gal pals!

What to Drink: We know that you and your girlfriends might be celebrating together from a distance, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a V-Day drink together! Companies like Mouth will send you and your friends everything you need to make a fancy, fabulous drink together over Zoom. All you have to do is add the alcohol!
