Katie’s Date with Oscar…

This year was a giant thumbs up for movies. “Les Miserables,” “Argo,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Sessions”… we honestly loved them all. And on this episode, Katie is talking to nominees, past winners and hosts. It’s a big day to celebrate the big night!

The pre-Oscar lunch is one of Tinseltown’s most prestigious events of the year. A-list celebrities and Hollywood stars from the hottest films of the year gather together for a big celebration, and somehow, Katie got an invite!

“Wow this is a big deal, this is exciting.” -Naomi Watts

With the Oscars just around the corner, we’re all wondering the same thing – who is going to win? Katie asks some in-the-know movie buffs, Jess Cagle, editor of Entertainment Weekly, and Wesley Morris from the website Grantland, to give us their predictions.

This year brought many movies and so many great performances. And on Katie, we’ve been lucky to be graced with so many of this year’s Oscar nominees. Katie decided to give out her own awards for some very special moments that will probably get overlooked come Oscar Sunday.

With the big night less than a week away, we can’t imagine how nerve-wracking and exciting it must be for the nominees. But Helen Hunt can! That’s because she has already won an Oscar, and she’s nominated again this year for Best Supporting Actress as Cheryl Cohen Green, a sex surrogate, in The Sessions.

“I feel like I won the lottery getting to be in this particular movie.” -Helen Hunt

The Oscars aren’t just Hollywood’s biggest night, they are TV’s biggest night with a billion people watching all around the world. The moment the show begins, it’s all eyes on one man or woman. Katie talked to two “hosts with the most” about one of the most challenging gigs in showbiz.

“You can’t get mean cause they’ll turn on you in a second.” -Billy Crystal

Anne Hathaway’s heartbreaking portrayal of Fantine in Les Miserables has made her an Oscar favorite this year. But with over a million views on YouTube, Emma Fitzpatrick has also become a favorite for her parody of Anne’s big song, “I Dreamed a Dream.”

“I was really just shocked and flattered.” -Emma Fitzpatrick
